Open Letter from Grit + Dynamite

Thoughts + Opinion

How to start….hmmm….I guess I can just start? Probably the best way is just to start writing. Yep…just start.

I think a lot of people often give that advice – just take action and you’ll find yourself along the way. Seems to be working so far?

If you’re reading this – first, thank you for visiting our site! We’re really excited to have you and hope that you find something that brings you back each time you stop by. If not – we wish you all the best on your journey.

Grit + Dynamite is a project among friends to try and create something beautiful in the world and carry a positive impact for its would be readers. None of us have any worth noting backgrounds or headlining professional accomplishments. Nor do we claim to be experts in anything. We are simply a group of people who think that empathy, passion, curiosity, humor, and self-reflection are precious aspects of humanity which are needed now more than ever before in our lifetimes (at least seemingly so).

This is a journey for us and we want you to be a part of it. We’ll plan on writing about a wide range of topics, not having a central focus on anything other than standing behind the quality and purpose of what we share. Over time our topics will likely grow, we may sell some products we believe in, and even start other forms of media (podcast #1 tbd..). We’ll always try to create things which we are proud of with good intentions, and will likely falter along the way. But that’s the fun of the journey – the growth you can only appreciate when you look back and the little adventures along the way.

We want you to be a part of this journey. To be a part of the progression and lost in the woods with us. I guess you could classify this as the goal to write 1 really great post that can one day turn into an honest media company, but the labels aren’t important.

A lot (actually “all” is probably more accurate) of what we do will be inspired by the interesting thoughts and beautiful creations of those around us. Things we have already experienced and thought about, that we think are worth sharing and reflecting on. We’ll always give credit where credit is due, but if you don’t see an explicit source, I assure you there will always be an inspiration behind it. The nature of writing our thoughts will be that we want to share what we find valuable, but not get bogged down in writing a thesis (although our commitment to science driven facts and cataloging sources when appropriate cannot be understated).

All in all, this rambling stream of consciousness is for our first and future visitors to have a glimpse of what to expect, to know what they may be getting into, and ultimately a reason to stop by once again. It is to mark the beginning of something wonderful. We hope to be a source of inspiration for you to become who you want to be. A place of thoughtful reflection. A lighthouse among a dark rolling tide. A glimmer of hope.

“See, Loki, life is about, it’s about growth. It’s about change. But you seem to just want to stay the same. I guess what I’m trying to say is that you’ll always be the God of Mischief, but you could be more.”

You’re Going To Die

Do you remember what it was like before you born? That’s most likely what we’re facing at the end when the lights go out for the final time. Not an experience of everlasting non-existence, just the final flick of a switch to set it back to nothing. I do sometimes
